Jamestown
Metal Marine Sales, Inc. has a history of integrity and customer
service that is reflective of the character and drive of its founder,
Mr. Edward W. Hazard Jr. Mr. Hazard began his involvement in the
marine business after leaving the Navy in 1946 and worked within
the industry for various companies until he went out on his own
in 1962.
He eventually
founded his own company, Jamestown Metal Marine Sales, Inc., in
1973. Initially located in New York, Jamestown continued to provide
interior support to the marine industry including the manufacture
of metal furniture at its facility in Jamestown, New York.
In 1978 Jamestown
was relocated to Florida where Jamestown continued to grow by being
more convenient to the developing markets in the US Gulf and the
cruise ship market in Miami.
Mr. Hazard’s son, Richard, joined the company after graduating
from Cornell University in 1977 and after working in the field for
several years, moved into the Sales organization. In 1986 Richard
assumed the position of President and took over complete control
of the company after Mr. Hazard passed away in the fall of 1998.
Over the years
the Hazard family has provided stability to the Jamestown organization
by integrating energetic, skilled and conscientious employees into
the company. Following the philosophy of its founder, the company
today continues to enjoy a reputation for honesty, fairness, integrity
and quality throughout the marine industry.
